Only 36 hours until we head off!! We received the tickets in the mail today, yes, just 48 hours before heading out. There are several other families that may not know for sure if they are traveling this week (leaving Thursday or Friday) until Wednesday! It is a paperwork issue in Ethiopia that keeps some families on their toes until it is time to leave. We cannot be more excited to actually leave. We have been waiting for this day for almost 19 months and it is finally here. The packing is keeping us busy, trying to remember to take everything for the "whati-ifs". This is different that our other trips to Africa in that we are actually bringing home a baby! They literally give us nothing when we pick him up so we must take EVERTHING that a baby might need. I feel as tough we have packed a CVS Pharmacy, Toys-R-Us Store, and half of a Wal-Mart. Never-to-prepared!! We were so excited today when we received a one-way ticket from Ethiopia to Wahsington-Dulles for one "Temesgen Roth" - that is what his official name will be until we re-adopt here in the US. We will post again before we leave... |
